Named for the coveys of quail that patrol our prized vineyards in the Columbia Valley, Covey Run specializes in crafting award-winning Washington State wines. In fact, Covey Run wines have been awarded 20 “Best Value” awards by Wine Spectator, the world’s leading wine magazine. For 25 years, Covey Run wines have provided a perfect introduction to the vivid, delicious flavors of Washington State. Since 1982, Covey Run has crafted a broad range of award-winning wines – including 20 “Best Value” awards from Wine Spectator magazine – from prized vineyards in the renowned Columbia and Yakima Valley appellations of Eastern Washington State. Sheltered from storms by the rainshadow effect exerted by the majestic Cascade Mountain Range, conditions in these high desert regions are ideal for cultivating world-class wine grapes. Warm, sunny days and extended sunlight hours (due to Washington’s northern latitude) develop intense flavors in our classic European grape varieties, while cool nights Read more »

  • Covey Run Gewurtztraminer 2011

Perfectly sweet, fruity, light gewurtz, perfect chilled. Great drinking wine, or paired with a light dessert. Fruity floral nose with peachy, mango, apricot flavors and a hint of vanilla with light spice on the finish. Little to no acid. Would definitely share this with guests; very fun wine to drink. Bought at Cost Plus World Market. Read More

  • Covey Run Riesling 2010

This is a nearly dry Riesling with perhaps 1% RS. Great nose of citrus, pine resin and petrol. Very unusual to find domestic Rieslings with this flavor profile. Could pass for a 10 yr old Kabinett. Holding up well at 4 yrs old. Good acid balance. Fruit is dominated by pine/petrol notes but still does well. My rating --89-90. Great value. Read More

  • "OT, do you drink Gallo?"Yep, I do, as do many here. Gallo brands are far reaching. Look what's on my countertop right now... Frei Bros is a Gallo brand, so is Louis Martini. That Rancho Zabaco that EMark drank the other night, you guessed it, Gallo brand. They are a huge operation that produces a lot of pedestrian wine. They also make wines on ... Read More

  • Covey Run Red Bordeaux Blend Washington Cabernet-Merlot 2007

Inexpensive but not forgotten, this wine combo Cab/Merlot is nice. It's different as I was never exposed to a truffle taste. If the palate were a gentle curve, this one is not a graceful curve. The taste curve of this wine is currant, chocolate and berry rising and then a sharp dive down to the truffle taste. Short lived finish? not so, it appea... Read More
