“One of the most complete and interesting visit and tastings I made while in New Zealand was to the Coopers Creek Winery with proprietor Andrew Hendry and winemaker Simon Nunns” Thomas K Hardy, wine merchant, negociant, author and publisher Only 30 minutes' drive from downtown Auckland, our winery offers one of the most picturesque vineyard settings in the region and is a great place to try our award-winning range of wines which include all grape varietals from each of the principle viticutural regions of New Zealand. We are open seven days for tasting and sales. In the summer months enjoy our vineyard sculpture exhibitions, live jazz on Sundays and the annual Vintage Al Fresco Festival on the first weekend in February. – Description from iskicm

  • Coopers Creek Sauvignon Blanc Marlborough 2010

    Snoothrank:

This is an acceptably crisp New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc. Its not a special bottle but isn't bad for a Tuesday night. Read More

  • Coopers Creek Sauvignon Blanc Marlborough 2009

    Snoothrank:

Overall, a clean, well balanced wine. Grassy notes prevail where fruit character is quite reserved. I found this wine to be somewhat lacking in acidity, as well as the corresponding citrus in its flavor profile. Not what I would typically expect from a Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc. Not bad, but not my cup of tea -- erm, glass of wine. Read More

  • Um - may I respectfully point out that Cooper Creek Winery is in Huapai, New Zealand, and certainly not in Victoria, Australia. I should know, I live about ten minutes from said winery. Not a bad drop either I might add - single vinyard wine from the Gimlett Gravels of Hawkes Bay, cheers HCH

  • Coopers Creek Pinot Noir Marlborough 2009

    Snoothrank:

This is smoky, earthy and stemmy with a touch of wood helping to sweeten the core of tea-framed red fruits. Light in the mouth with snappy acids and small but crisp tannins, giving this a bright energetic feel for a modestly sized wine. Very Burgundian in the feel and flavor profile with earthy, forest floor and herb accented wild red berry frui... Read More

  • Coopers Creek Pinot Gris Marlborough 2008

    Snoothrank:

Stemmy and soil-driven on the nose, with a spicy floral, dried citrus peel character. This is a broad, soft, wide-open wine in the mouth, though not very big. The fruit is not prominent but this does offer wonderful, if slightly subtle mineral, herb and bitter apple fruit. The long finish is tense and focused with a long heirloom apple tone. Ve...
