The Conreria d'Scala Dei producers some of the most special wines from Priorat. Jordi Vidal is the owner and winemaker. Les Brugueres White is a single-vineyard wine made from 100+ year-old Grenache Blanc vines that are located on the steep terrasses within the Priorat village of Scala Dei. Although Priorat has emerged as one of the most sought-after red wine regions in Spain, there hasn't been much in the way of high-quality white Priorat wines. Most have been oxidative, monolithic, and dull. The wine is aged in stainless steel tanks and is left on its fine lees to impart a creamy texture and complexity. Aromas of cherries and toasted barley came though on the nose as well as oak and vanilla. Tannins were strong on the tongue and flavors of herbs and tomatoes came through on the taste.
