The Conreria d'Scala Dei producers some of the most special wines from Priorat. Jordi Vidal is the owner and winemaker. Les Brugueres White is a single-vineyard wine made from 100+ year-old Grenache Blanc vines that are located on the steep terrasses within the Priorat village of Scala Dei. Although Priorat has emerged as one of the most sought-after red wine regions in Spain, there hasn't been much in the way of high-quality white Priorat wines. Most have been oxidative, monolithic, and dull. The wine is aged in stainless steel tanks and is left on its fine lees to impart a creamy texture and complexity. It is bottled with only slight filtration. – Description from mriskic

  • Conreria d'Scala Dei Black Slate 'La Morera' Blanc 2012

    Snoothrank:

Really, really nice Spanish white blend from Priorat of 91% Grenache Blanc and 9% Pedro Ximenez. Juicy and complex with white peach, honeysuckle, apricot, a touch of vanilla, nice minerality, decent acidity and a very nice finish. Excellent QPR at around $15. Read More

  • Iugiter 2006

    Snoothrank:

With a lot of peppery smells- black pepper, bell peppers, and herbs, the nose turned some of us off to the wine. It was tannic and chewy on the tongue. Opened up a bit over the course of the tasting and mellowed out. Some fruits came through in the end- blackberries, cherries Read More

  • Conreria d'Scala Dei Priorat Negre 2003

    Snoothrank:

Not as dark as I was expecting it has a light but brilliant reddish purple tinge. Round up tight, it shows oak on the nose, light vanilla, anise, thougt not a lot of fruit right away. Big in the mouth with tons of acid and behind that a bunch of tannin followed by alcohol. For flavors I'm getting some anise, pepper and tart cherry/raspberry. Wil... Read More
