Clos du Marquis on Snooth

  • Clos du Marquis St. Julien 2007

    Snoothrank:

Blackberry, cassis, fresh cigar tobacco and cedar plank greet the nose and the wine has a good, deep colour for the vintage; there is a smooth, slightly acidic red fruit entry with a mild root and stem element on a surprising warm finish. Good effort in a trying year with some further cellaring potential (3-4 years). 89 points. Read More

  • Marquis de la Tour Brut NV

    Snoothrank:

I opened this and was a little surprised. At first it has an interesting aroma. Upon drinking it, the brut hits you first. It then blooms into a fruity blend. Its very nice if you are looking for a fruity cheaper champagne. Read More

Why is it I'd rather have one of them on my wall then a Flash banner ad from the Web?Price seems like more than a bargain, and the money goes to charity, too....   ... Here's your chance ... • I 'inherited' a bottle of Clos Du Marquis, Saint Julien 1984 (See my profile pic for the image of the label).  I am trying to find some information about it.  I have seen this wine from the 1988 vintage, but never the 1984.  Can anyone tell me about this wine?  I know its a second label, etc.  Is it even worth drinking at this point?  Thank You!!
