  • Clos du Marquis Red Bordeaux Blend St. Julien 2006

    Snoothrank:

The 2006 Clos du Marquis evokes the usual panoply of cassis, blackberry and blueberry on the nose (but dominated by the latter fruit). Entry has a significant degree of residual oak and smoke - with silky tannin on the finish of cassis, blackberry and tar. The wine is perfect for fine foods based on beef or lamb. Will last 5-10 more years, bu... Read More

  • Clos du Marquis St. Julien 2007

    Snoothrank:

Blackberry, cassis, fresh cigar tobacco and cedar plank greet the nose and the wine has a good, deep colour for the vintage; there is a smooth, slightly acidic red fruit entry with a mild root and stem element on a surprising warm finish. Good effort in a trying year with some further cellaring potential (3-4 years). 89 points. Read More

I don't even ... Read More

  • If I were anywhere near New York on the 29th I'd be going to this event. Great wine, interesting winemakers, and lots of old posters, art nouveau or otherwise. Why is it I'd rather have one of them on my wall then a Flash banner ad from the Web?Price seems like more than a bargain, and the money goes to charity, too....   ... Here's your chance ...
