  • Cliff Creek Claret Sam's Valley Vineyard 2007

    Snoothrank:

50% Cabernet sauvignon, 30% Cabernet Franc, 20% MerlotCandied on the nose with lots of sweet black fruit, sweet oak spice, and licorice topped with some floral and black olive notes. Smooth on entry, and rather broad on the palate, this has plenty of acid and a good base of tannins supporting a core of fruit that recalls the nose with its sweet,... Read More

  • Disapointed with my search results for Temecula. Most were from 2010...Anyway, we are going on a family vacation in the area and I need some assistance in choosing a few wineries to hit.  Most of my research so far has been the wineries' websites, which are obviously biased.  However, based on this I am thinking about Doffo, Wiens, and Wilson Cr... • Cliff Creek Claret 2006

    Snoothrank:

Very lively and flavorful. Slightly toasty, but not overpowering with the vanilla notes. Tart black cherry with a decent acid balance. Great sipper on its own, but would also make a versatile food wine. Read More
