  • Fox - K&L has another problem if you're on the supplier side - they discount a lot and it hurts your brand. That's one of the things they do that's really good for customers. They may jack the price when a review comes out but if they don't move the inventory, or if they get a closeout from somewhere, they sell it for a lot less than other retai... Read More

  • A ridiculous number of trigger pullworthies in this new offering, many in their absolute drinking prime. Wish the shop was just down the street from me, rather than the ones that are. But then I'd have to live in NYC.  ;-(I love it when a guy drops 100 cases on a shop, just to 'make some space" in his cellar. Wonder what's going to be filling th... Read More

  • Chateau St Jean Cabernet Sauvignon 2010

2010 Chateau St. Jean Cabernet Sauvignon, Sonoma County, CA. This is a delicious cab. Heavy on the dark fruit, cassis and cedar box. I love this deep colored liquid. The tannins are a bit unfinished but otherwise acceptable leaving me with a long satisfying cabernet smile. One further note, how the hell did Kenwood get mixed up with Chateau St. ... Read More

  • Well we are back from the Glen Ellen/Kenwood trip. We found a few wines we liked, and enjoyed exploring the area. Since I am a big pinot person, especially RRV or sonoma coast, I knew I wasn't necessarily in the heart of that area of Sonoma,  But since it had been so long since I visited this area, we decided to give it a go.We stopped first in ... • Chateau St. Jean Sonoma County Cabernet Sauvignon 2006

Just opened it after 3 years in the cellar. Tastes like a mature Cabernet Sauvignon; tobacco, dark fruit. Not a very long finish, not exactly fresh but has plenty of life. Read More
