  • A ridiculous number of trigger pullworthies in this new offering, many in their absolute drinking prime. Wish the shop was just down the street from me, rather than the ones that are. But then I'd have to live in NYC.  ;-(I love it when a guy drops 100 cases on a shop, just to 'make some space" in his cellar. Wonder what's going to be filling th... Read More

  • Chateau St Jean Cabernet Sauvignon 2010

2010 Chateau St. Jean Cabernet Sauvignon, Sonoma County, CA. This is a delicious cab. Heavy on the dark fruit, cassis and cedar box. I love this deep colored liquid. The tannins are a bit unfinished but otherwise acceptable leaving me with a long satisfying cabernet smile. One further note, how the hell did Kenwood get mixed up with Chateau St. ... Read More

  • Well we are back from the Glen Ellen/Kenwood trip. We found a few wines we liked, and enjoyed exploring the area. Since I am a big pinot person, especially RRV or sonoma coast, I knew I wasn't necessarily in the heart of that area of Sonoma,  But since it had been so long since I visited this area, we decided to give it a go.We stopped first in ... • EMark, Jack London Lodge is cute!  Thanks for that lead.  I just checked my dates though, and it's booked :-(  AdrienneFarina, I have been to RS, but it's been ~15-20 yrs ago.  I did enjoy it very much.  Back at that time, I also visited Piper Sonoma and Chateau St. Jean, which had beautiful gardens. • So I am sneaking away to Sonoma for a few days.  I have spent tons of time up in RRV and Sebastopol, and I think I want to revisit the lower valley this time- Kenwood, Glen Ellen...  I would love recommendations for wineries, hotels, motels, vac. rentals, and restaurants.  Sonoma proper would be ok to stay, as is close to those areas.  Plan on h...
