The history of Chateau Rauzan-Segla started in the reign of Louis XIV, when Pierre de Rauzan acquired the estate in 1 661. Rauzan-Segla wines grew in reputation in a remarkable way and were some of the most highly rated in Bordeaux. They delighted many well-known figures, most famously Thomas Jefferson who came across this wine during his visit to the vineyards of Bordeaux, placing an order for several cases of it. • Greetings all,I have just returned from Shanghai, where I was invited to be a ... heaven. As John Kolasa of Chateau Rauzan Segla remarked at my table, it was probably better on the Right Bank. Still, the wine was fine. It had a mature Graves like flavor, but the edgy tannins seemed to dominate. Speaking of Rauzan Segla, we enjoyed the 1986 ver... Read More

  • OK, expect several other Bordeaux chateaux  to experience price rises in the near future. We saw it happen when the Chinese went gaga over first growths, as well as DRC. • Hi All,   I have a few thoughts/questions that I would appreciate comments on. I have been some-what seriously drinking wine for about eight years now. I am 61 years old and before the "wine enlightenment", drank mostly micro-brewery and other not so chic types of beer. Every year now for the past four, I have held a blind tasting of different r... • I've gotten a lot of flack for some of my opinions about these 2007 Bordeaux. While there certainly are many poor 2007s, the vintage is not a complete wash-out. It really depends a bit on what a person is looking for. 2007 Bordeaux, at their worst, exhibit bitter unripe tannins and dominant, green vegetal flavors, but is there more to this vinta...
