The history of Chateau Rauzan-Segla started in the reign of Louis XIV, when Pierre de Rauzan acquired the estate in 1 661. Rauzan-Segla wines grew in reputation in a remarkable way and were some of the most highly rated in Bordeaux. They delighted many well-known figures, most famously Thomas Jefferson who came across this wine during his visit to the vineyards of Bordeaux, placing an order for several cases of it. He thus became a fervent admirer of Rauzan-Segla wines. Some decades later the 1855 classification ranked Chateau Rauzan-Segla as a Second Growth. • Château Malescot St. Exupéry Red Bordeaux Blend Margaux 2005

    Snoothrank:

Dark ruby in the glass. Beautiful tell-tale Margaux nose. Rich, pretty berry laced with florals and eucalyptus with some oak spice. On the palate, currant, cassis and flowers. Pretty, earthy and lush. Great structure and balance. It's both pretty and powerful, with wonderful finesse. Beautiful wine!4/14/12 Read More
