This is a delicious Merlot-based Graves that is ready right now; graphite and cherry greet the nose, and the entry is dominated by Merlot-typical cherry and some residual tannin/lignin. Finish is smooth and fruity - though not nearly so dense as the 2010 or 2009 (as expected). Good value. A bit underrated, methinks. 89 points. Read More

  • Château Rahoul Red Bordeaux Blend Graves 2009

This Graves is an excellent wine for the price - deepest garnet and inviting plumminess on the nose with more plum and preserved cherry on the palate. Quite balanced without need for further aging( though it would survive for several years with minimal improvement); a nice introduction to the vintage from this region. 88 points. Read More
