Château Puech-Haut is a biodynamically farmed estate in the Languedoc in southern France. Gerald Bru oversees production, with many important winemakers over the years including Michel Rolland, Claude Gros and Phillipe Cambie. Many of the grapes are sourced from older vines, some 60-75 years old, resulting in very concentrated and structured flavors. The fruit for the wines was originally sold to other winemakers, then Puech-Haut began producing wine under its own label starting in 1996. The “Cuvée Prestige” is its most successful release, from Syrah and Grenache, aged in concrete tanks (the Syrah spends a small amount of time in oak to give it some punctuation).
