Odette and Rene Bastide bought this 100 hectare estate with 18th century chateau in 1970 and spent consioderable time and money on renovations and modernisation. They were assisted by daughter and son-in-law Edith and Paul Chaudiere. In 1989 they left the local co-operative and started making and bottling their own wines. In 2003 their sons Alexandre and Frederic Chaudiere took over. The estate is in the process of going organic and the well known American wine critic Robert Parker described it as 'one of my all time favouite producers in France'

  • Chateau Pesquie Cotes du Ventoux Quintessence 2011

    Snoothrank:

I bought two bottles of this wine from the website ... the family owned concern of Chateau Pesquie and consists of 80% syrah and 20% grenache and was aged in oak barrels.I started my bottle last night with my supper of beef stew.It is certainly a full-bodied wine. There is plenty of a concentrated blackcurrant and blackberry style fruit with a ... • Chateau Pesquie Terrasses Ventoux 2014

    Snoothrank:

Light and effusive at the start this grows with a little time in the glass. Plenty of cherry and red plum with a touch of spice, anise and moderate tannins pair with good acidity and a relatively short but lively aftertaste. Drink now - 89 points - Paul Read More

  • Château Pesquié Quintessence 2009

    Snoothrank:

The 2009 Quintessence is a fine wine with balanced, structured flavors of sage, eucalyptus and cherry and notes of smoke and spice on the nose. Elegant, smooth and still capable of a few more years in the bottle, this Ventoux is highly recommended - if you can find the vintage. Though somewhat different in style, better value than many Chateau... Read More

A touch leafy on the nose then filling with dark raspberry/blackberry aromas along with lovely spicy, herbal base notes and a touch of licorice. • I've no great distinguished palate, but I love this vineyard. I like the Terrasses I have tried several years, but I love Quintessence. Quintessence is less acid, and has an extremely rich mouth-feel and exceptionally complex and layered yet unsubtle taste. For the price it's one of the best wines I have had, makes me wish I had a cellar.
