I am a life long wine enthusiast with a preference for Bordeaux, particularly if consumed at maturity. I do enjoy wines from other parts of the world but find I like the ones that have a claret style best. I dislike CA/domestic fruit bombs that seem so prevalent and popular in the U S.My bias toward Bordeaux was probably set when a friend of mi... Read More
Here's another of those eye-popping offers from HDH, though it always surprises me how (relatively) reasonable bottle prices are for older Bordeaux library offerings compared to those from the last several years. And Montrose itself was never really found by the Chinese. There's no question of provenance here since these bottles are all from the... Read More

All my scotch friends have special "end of the world" bottles. I suspect that many of us do, too. So, considering that the end of the world is supposed to happen in a matter of days per our Mayan friends, and that happens to coincide with the Christmas season.....what are you planning to open this Christmas? If the world starts to come apart de... Read More
What do you think? Is this worth $38? How was 1989 as a vintage in Bordeaux? The latest "Best Wine Ever" from JR...An original cache of 1989 Left Bank Bordeaux (drinking superbly at present) for $38+That says it all....except, I will add, that the 1989 vintage continues to increase in stature with so many wines that were (somewhat) overlooked i...
