  • It got better or worse depending on how you look at it. Fun time though.  A friend from north of the border was touring wine country with his Mom'00 Piper Heidsieck Brut - nutty nose, fresh popcorn, rolls over to palate, touch heavy, great bubbles.'13 Fogline Zephyrs Block Chardonnay - Lots of melon and lemon curd on the nose, clean silky with a... • A couple of news items I was pondering today.First, Robert Parker came out with his ratings for the 2009 Bordeaux vintage. • What are the "must-have-wines" when you visit a wine bar?  Or just stuff you'd really like to see. This can become tricky with "by-the-glass" stuff, because I imagine people can become quite cautious with a glass of wine above the $12 figure. Any insights?? Read More

  • Hey everyone, what's the buzz in the US right now about buying Bordeaux 2009 En Primeur?I have never known a vintage to be so 'talked-up' by the press.  Investors are hanging on to Parker's index fingers waiting with drooling tongues and wagging tails for it to spout forth its Midas touch.  This is THE vintage of the last 100 years folks.  Broke...
