Situated just on the outskirts of Bordeaux, on a fine gravel clay-siliceous soil, the vineyards of the Château Escart are planted with 53% Merlot, 25% Cabernet Sauvignon, 14% Cabernet Franc and 8% Verdot.
These varieties were planted with the aim of producing powerful, fruity wines of exceptional quality and a good ageing potential.
The vines which are 38 years old on average are cultivated using traditional viticultural practices, lending the wines produced distinction through a sense of history.
When the harvest has finished the entire crop undergoes the first steps of vinication through maceration for three to four weeks. This allows for excellent extraction of colour, aromas as well as for the diffussion of tannins in the wines.
