Wines of Chateau le Puy are issued from a vineyard more than fifty-years old. Vinestocks are cultivated according to the "bio-dynamic" organic method. Main characteristics of the wines of Chateau le Puy are: Red Wine: - Garnet-red robe, ruby inclination for the young vintages, with orange-coloured tints - Fruity nose, ripe red fruit aromas, blackcurrent, redcurrant taste prevailing, and also, in some vintages, roasted almond, sometimes mushroom - Rounded moth, full, concentrated, delicate, velvety tannins - Long ending, deep, pleasantly complex The red wines of Chateau le Puy are exceptional wines. Most of the vintages can be enjoyed in their newness thanks to velvety tannins, but they can also age several decades in order to taste the deepness of the native lang. Special reserve vintages, Barthelemy, are raised without any sulphur dioxide. Dry White Wine: - Golden flakes robe - Strong fruity nose, delicate quince jam aromas, and thym honey - Full mouth, supple attack, tight frame - Long and delicate ending

  • A ridiculous number of trigger pullworthies in this new offering, many in their absolute drinking prime. Wish the shop was just down the street from me, rather than the ones that are. But then I'd have to live in NYC.  ;-(I love it when a guy drops 100 cases on a shop, just to 'make some space" in his cellar. Wonder what's going to be filling th... Read More

  • Just thought I would share three videos on Bordeaux 2010, from en primeur week. I like how Bill Blatch for example lends a certain realism to the tasting experience, although I did not find the wines THAT difficult to taste. Certainly 2009 was easier to taste en primeur, it was a more immediately flattering tasting experience on the whole. As wa... Read More

  • I am hosting a Schreiner's Winers tasting Saturday and we're covering zins.  I was wondering what some Snooth favorites are.  I am looking to get 6-9 bottles from various areas and price ranges.  I already have a 2007 Plungerhead.  I was thinking something from Ridge?  Robert Biale?  Renwood, Ravenswood or Cosentino.  Thoughts?
