Château Larrivet Haut-Brion was acquired by the Gervoson family in 1987. They restored the estate's unity, once again combining the château, outbuildings, 13 hectares of grounds, and 42 hectares of vines under one owner, as well as replanting 18 hectares of land that had laid fallow. A team of enthusiastic professionals has done a wonderful job of giving Château Larrivet Haut-Brion back its superb reputation, and the estate is once again universally recognised as one of the finest wines in the Pessac-Léognan appellation. Château Larrivet Haut-Brion is an associate member of the Académie du Vin de Bordeaux, a member of the Union des Grands Crus de Bordeaux, and a member of the Commanderie du Bontemps de Médoc et des Graves de Sauternes et Barsac. We are pleased to welcome visitors: Monday-Friday – 9:30 to 12:00 am and 2:00 to 5:30 pm and Saturday – 10:00 to 12:00 am and 2:00 to 5:00 pm. – Description from Nerevar

  • Sturgeon have swum the Bordeaux river basin as long as Sauvignon Blanc, Sémillon  and Muscadelle have rooted down the region’s vineyards. They make an excellent pairing, yet this duo has long been overlooked.Even taken separately, this is true. Magret de canard and foie gras are de riguer at the Bordelais table. Though Bordeaux is nestled betwee... Read More

Why is it I'd rather have one of them on my wall then a Flash banner ad from the Web?Price seems like more than a bargain, and the money goes to charity, too....   ... Here's your chance ... • I've gotten a lot of flack for some of my opinions about these 2007 Bordeaux. While there certainly are many poor 2007s, the vintage is not a complete wash-out. It really depends a bit on what a person is looking for. 2007 Bordeaux, at their worst, exhibit bitter unripe tannins and dominant, green vegetal flavors, but is there more to this vinta... Smoky and earthy on the nose with herbaceous tones giving this a stemmy quality and leathery notes to the fruit elevated acids make this tart, light bodied, a bit neutral on the palate, soft tannins, clean finish, fairly fruity, stemmy tannins, a bit short, obviously quite fruit driven (85-86) Read More
