The vineyard was originally planted by a Henry Delarose on a plot of land known as 'Tenement de Trintaudon' ;hence the name of the estate. The actual chateau was built in the 1870's. In the 1920's the vines were pulled up and the land given over to dairy farming but the place was bought by the Former family  [ who already owned other estates in Bordeaux ]  in 1963 and they recommenced viticulture The Former family sold up to the Allianz insurance group [ who also own other Bordeaux estates ] in 1986. It still has Cru Bourgeois status. The Chateau has 190 hectares under vine making it the largest wine estate in the Haut-Medoc appellation. producing around a million bottles a year. There are two second wines,Les Hauts de Trintaudon and Larose-St.Laurent.

  • Fast becoming one of my favorite wines. I love the fact that it comes from a sustainable vineyard. Wonderful bouquet of raspberry. Excellent taste lingering on my tongue! Very refreshing after working on our new patio all day in the hot sun.

  • Château Larose-Trintaudon Bordeaux Haut-Médoc 2006

    Snoothrank:

Deep ruby color with violet hints, of great density and brilliance. The nose, though still somewhat discrete, reveals coconut, vanilla and candied cherry aromas.Tannins are dense and well integrated, balanced with natural acidity and followed by great fullness and ripeness; an elegant yet rich wine. ~ The Winery ~ Read More

  • Just enjoyed a bottle of Ch. Larose-Trintaudon Haut-Medoc 2000. Lighter than most Haut-Medocs, smooth, medium complexity. Very pleasant. An excellent buy at $20.
