  • All my scotch friends have special "end of the world" bottles. I suspect that many of us do, too. • Chateau Gloria Primeur Chateau Gruaud Larose Bordeaux Frankreich 2009

Klassischer Bordeaux. Wird weitere 25-35 Jahre lang halten. Zu jung aber dennoch: Unglaublich (!!) feine Tannine. Elegant, nicht so muskulös wie andere St-Juliens...Für einen 2ème auch relativ günstig. Bravo! Read More

  • Gruaud-Larose Premier 1975

Yes, an orange red wine with some age in the bottle. We opened it snoothly and almost with no damage to the cork. It had a flower odeur and was quite nice to drink. It is an old wine thats for sure, but very interesting to drink. Read More

  • Gruaud-Larose Premier 1975

Maybe the bottle I drank wasn't as well stored as some others. Generally, G-Larose has incredible longevity, retaining fruit and structure for decades. Upon opening, the fruit and perfume was still present, but muted. After a while, it just turned to soy sauce. Still, a worthy effort from an "altacocker" such as this. Read More

  • Château Gruaud Larose Red Bordeaux Blend St. Julien 1981

I found this 30-year old wine to be surprisingly good, much better than expected, even for a wine that has been kept in a temperature-controlled environment. The earthy tones prevailed, but there was still enough fruit to make it compelling and delicious. Went very well with the food (osso buco). Read More
