Château Grand Renouil

At the beginning of the 20th century, the Ponty family settles in Fronsac, in the Libourne area, in the heart of the best vineyards of Bordeaux, to produce and sell the wines from their estates.

Today, four generations have contributed to the reputation and quality of Ponty Vineyards' wines. Michel Ponty, the current owner, was born on the estate, and started working there at 21 years old, with his older brother and his father. His father had himself taken over from his own father, Victor Ponty, who initiated this family passion.

Ponty Vineyards is composed of four small estates, two in the Canon Fronsac appellation, one in Bordeaux appellation and one in Bordeaux Blanc appellation. Ponty Vineyards produces mostly red wines, using a majority of Merlot. The Château Grand Renouil, with 5.5 hectares of very old vines, produces a great wine as well as a second wine, Petit Renouil.
