The building was originally a fortified farm going back to 1260 and it has been in the Saint-Charles family since 1625. Marie and David Ratignier took over the operation of the two vineyards Domaine Saint Charles and Domaine Conroy in 2008 on the retirement of Jean Saint-Charles.. There are 32 hectares and they produce a range of red,rose,white and sparkling wines under the Beaujolais, Brouilly and Cote de Brouilly appellations
