Chateau Diana is a beverage brand from Healdsburg, California. It is bottled at 6% ABV with the words “wine product” found on the label. This is because, although it’s packaged in a traditional 750 ml wine bottle, it’s not technically a wine, but more of a wine cooler minus the bubbles. It is has added water, fruit juice concentrate, sugar and other ingredients not found in standard table wine. However, because it isn’t technically wine and has such a low ABV, it is legal for sale in establishments that are only licensed to sell beer and wine coolers. Its genius placement at the front of such businesses makes it a common last-minute BYOB offering.

  • Château Diana Pinot Grigio California 2008

Chateau Diana seems to have the monoopoly of a lot of convenience stores in the Times Square/Broadway area. We paid about $12.50 for a Pinot Grigio and I am sorry to say it was one of the worst wines we have ever tasted. It had no body, was slightly sweet and to say it was insipid would be flattering it. If you like pomegranate juice then you will like this wine. It is not wine, it is a combination of fruit juice and other additives that make it totally undrinkable - buyer beware. Read More

  • I just finished reading 10 pages of very interesting, insightful and articulate posts about the perceived demise of California Cabernet Sauvignon. There was a lot of data contributing to the perception that California is in the middle of a high alcohol "fruit bomb" era.I'm not going to pretend to be Robert Parker Jr., James Laube or even several... Not as bold as you might expect from another Zin, but very low in acid. Not sure if it's the vintage that caused the issued, but my bottle rocks. Read More
