Château de Seguin in Bordeaux is part of the CHRIS-WINE Group. An indenpendent and family owned wine company. In 1985 Erling Carl, who was the founder of the Danish wine company CHRIS-WINE A/S, discovered Château de Seguin, thanks to the help from his friend Mr. Anthony Barton, the owner of Château Léoville-Barton and Château Langoa-Barton. Erling Carl bought the Château with adjoining 20 hectares of vines. He decided to renovate the entire estate, but first he introduced the first vintage, the 1986, which was an excellent vintage - then the renovation of Château itself began, followed by the vineyards, the vinification areas etc. The efforts of Erling Carl immediately paid off. After his death in 1991, his two sons Michael and Gert Carl took over the management of the estate. Today Château de Seguin is a renowned and modern wine producer. It controls 135 of hectares of vineyards in the Entre-Deux-Mers region in Bordeaux. – Description from Kursulla

    Snoothrank:

I bought this bottle of wine for £10 from the website www.bidforwine.co.uk/auctions/show/110879. It is from the Pessac-Leognan appellation which was created in 1987 out of what had been the nothern part of the Graves appellation and is very close to the southern part of the City of Bordeaux.L'Angelot de Seguin is a second wine at Chateau Seguin ... • In 1991, my husband and I traveled to France and toured a few Bordeaux wineries. We brought home two bottles of wine from the Chateau de Seguin winery. One is a 1986 Bordeaux Superieur and the other is a 1987 Bordeaux. We have not yet opened these bottles. I would like to know if they are worth anything in todays market. Is there a way to fin...

  • Chateau de Seguin. Wine for Drinking Or Laying Down Bordeaux Superieur 2009

    Snoothrank:

Their 2009 is a lighter weight wine when considering the fame of this vintage. It has cedar and plum notes and is fairly dark in color. It has noticeable tannin but is a bit lacking of fruit. It is pleasant enough but not profound. My rating -- 85 Read More

  • I knew they would, but couldn't part with them. I figured I'd just keep them forever, pass them along later. They've been stored in really great conditions from the start (cool cellar) and I rotate them every 6 months or so. There are some whites (probably a disaster) and reds. Am I wasting my time and energy on them? Most are Bordeauxs, Rhones,... Read More

    Snoothrank:

I do have here vintage 2008, stunning label, ok taste, not very fruity as all bordeaux wines under ten bucks. The price only $9.99 at Trader Joe, 2.5 stars. There is nothing wrong or disturbing with this wine but nothing special. Pros: low acidity Read More

  • Château de Seguin Red Bordeaux Blend Bordeaux Supérieur 2008

    Snoothrank:

Black raspberry on the nose initially, followed by maybe a little horse (though it didn't smell bad). Very mellow, not hot at all. Tannins sneak up at the end, but it's more of a pleasant surprise, and they aren't very strong. A bit of sweetness, but I wouldn't call it a very sweet wine. Read More
