In 1966 Henri and Françoise Lévêque acquired a few plots of vines in the commune of Podensac. After 40 years patiently adding more plots, Château de Chantegrive is today one of the largest and most prestigious estates in the Graves appellation with 97 hectares (240 acres) of vines. They produce a range of red and white wines under the Graves appellation. It is a member of the Union des Grands Crus de Bordeaux. A new generation has now arrived and with its energy and committed involvement within the winegrowing world, has injected renewed impetus into the estate. Agnès, Patrice, Hélène and François (photographed here) form a close-knit and effective team.

  • Well, DV, the Bordeaux Release is the largest ever, I think, with something like 241 product listings.  However, the advertisement was pretty much strictly on their internet site and at various locations set to offer the wines for sale.  To me, the whole operation is amateurish and stuck on the idea of first come, first served line-ups on the ea... • This Topic is partially intended to start a new thread on daily wine drinking as the earlier topics are just too long and too general.  How about telling us more about your choices and helping me start a new thread for the next generation, so to speak?  The "why" is the interesting part for some of us - but pictures are always welcome; after all... • Chateau de Chantegrive Caroline Blanc 2015

    Snoothrank:

A beautiful Fall day in Vancouver BC suggested Provencal at Chez Meme followed by wine in the nearby park with very old and dear friends. Chantegrive Blanc 2015 seemed up to the challenge with toasty oak and pear on the nose followed by soft oak, pear, gooseberry and lemon grass on the palate - which lingered long and with great satisfaction to... • If I were anywhere near New York on the 29th I'd be going to this event. Great wine, interesting winemakers, and lots of old posters, art nouveau or otherwise.
