The Château Cabriac is found in Corbières facing the Black mountain, in the foothills of the Cevennes. Surrounded by pine trees and bathed in the fragrances of resin and the neighbouring garrigue, echoing with the sounds of the crickets and dazzled by the intensity of the colours, struck by the size of the moutains - a place of remarkable natural beauty. The origins of the domaine go back to the Roman era. In the 12th century the Templars founded a priory there dedicated to Saint Martin, whose ruins can still be found today. In the Revolution, the château was seen as "church goods" and sold to the Berlioz family, who have also owned part of the abbey of Lagrasse from the same period. The Marquise of Puivert, the last member of the Berlioz family, left the château to her nephews, the Cibeins, in 1945. Jean de Cibeins, the current owner, along with his wife Michèle, is the latest link in the chain to take over the running of the estate.
