Vines have been grown on the Château grounds since Roman times. Situated on the Aurelian Wa - a Roman road formerly linking Italy and Spain - the vineyard was also a trading post of wines; the amphoras used to transport the precious beverage that was made on site. Château de Berne spans 1,500 acres of sumptuous countryside in the heart of Provence. Niched between garrigue and olive groves, the 250-acre vineyard produces 750,000 bottles of acclaimed reds, whites and rosés from Grenache, Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cinsault, Carigan, Viognier, Merlot, Sémillon, Ugni Blanc and Rolle grape varieties.
