Chateau de Belleverne is a grand mansion built in 1823 that was bought, along with 9 hectares of vines and some pasture, by Jean-Michel Bataillard and his parents in 1969.After a considerable amount of work the whole family moved in in 1974 and they started to bottle their own wine in 1976.Today there are 30 hectares scattered across the Beaujolais region and a selection of Beaujolais wines and white Burgundies are made. The house is now an upmarket guest house. The business is now run by Jean-Michel's children,Didier,Sylvie and Alain
