This wine has surprising heft and is slightly backward. Deep blackberry and coffee notes electrify the olfactory bulbs but streaks of astringency may detract from overall drinking pleasure. Still, there is good structure...

Opened for one hour and then poured. Nothing really going on at first but then after another hour of air time, the aromas and tastes became apparent. Needs more time in the cellar. THis is going to require patience....

Black fruit and spice on this elegant nose. Soft black fruit on the palate - a touch thin. A smooth and balanced wine with a very good finish. Cantemerle has surprised me! In a blind tasting, I might call this a Margaux.
