Lovely with herb and earth on the nose, then bit of mineral, in a classic style and with attractive complexity. Fresh, juicy and very refreshing in the mouth, not an ager but perhaps over the shorter terms this offers sweet red berry fruit and well balanced if modest structure. 87pts Read More

The nose is just what you would expect from a well crafted Haut-Medoc, rich aromas of leather, mint, a touch of cedar and dried flowers. The taste is somewhat fruit forward, with muted flavors of cassis and berry that transitions to a bit of sour cherry and s... Read More

  • Just a quick posting on a tasting we did last week.  We've been celebrating our tenth anniversary, and I stockpiled 2001s.  Good thing it was a strong vintage in so many places.  Of course, the 2001 Gran Reservas from Rioja are, in some cases, just hitting the market and are terrific values. We celebrated with a bottle we bought in the first cou... Read More
