Château Brown, as its name suggests, bears testimony to the close links that have always existed between the Bordeaux region and the Anglo-Saxons. Founded in the late Middle Ages when Aquitaine belonged to England, Château Brown owes its name to the wealthy Scottish wine trader John Lewis Brown, who settled in Bordeaux in the late 18th century. An enthusiast of wines and art, this epicurean passed on not only his name but also his passions to his grandson, the animal painter John Lewis Brown. – Description from Kursulla

  • Château Brown Lamartine Red Bordeaux Blend Bordeaux Supérieur 2005

    Snoothrank:

Very nice '05 Bordeaux that started out with a bit of medicine but quickly came around with dark plum, blackberry, medium tannin and medium oak. Nothing over the top but nicely balanced with a decent finish. Needed some air time to open up. Read More

  • Well. I finally finished of this batch.  We had a little get-together with some friends on the deck at the Villa Riviera where b-i-l lives.  It was mostly a white wine night (because of the menu and the preferences of most of the participants), but I did bring a bottle of Zinfandel and the magnum of the unlabeled Bordeaux.  I did not do too badl...
