  • There is a lot of information on this vintage available at the usual download locations - particularly if you have accounts (I avoid this in most cases as I hate advertising).  Having said this, i can say that I have not had a poor example from this Bordeaux vintage - which is either merely serendipitous or an excellent indicator of the quality ... • The amount of product available from this vintage in the Gironde Basin is amazing and needs further (in depth) discussion.  I will await an inaugural entry by other members, but will add information by Sunday, October 13th if nothing is added.  In my lifetime, only the 2005, 2009 and 2010 merit any real comparison to this vintage. • Well, DV, the Bordeaux Release is the largest ever, I think, with something like 241 product listings.  However, the advertisement was pretty much strictly on their internet site and at various locations set to offer the wines for sale.  To me, the whole operation is amateurish and stuck on the idea of first come, first served line-ups on the ea... Entry is youthful, but elegant and balanced with Himalayan Blackberry, cherry and vanilla; Finish is long, elegant and satisfying with well-inte... Read More

Medium + body, medium + acid -- well balanced, dark fruit (blackberry, black currant) tobacco, and coffee notes. Silky tannins. Enjoyable to drink now, but would benefit from additional aging. Read More

  • Château Beaumont Red Bordeaux Blend Haut-Médoc 2006

Color is very dark and rich. The nose is somewhat muted but I detect hints of dark fruits. On the palate the tannins are well integrated with the dark fruits along with a hint of vanilla. Although the finish was rather short, the wine does have fairly nice structure. I should have decanted this for at least an hour. This might have produced more... Read More
