The Charles Shaw label is best known for producing wines of “extreme value.” These became popular when marketed exclusively out of Trader Joe’s grocery chain for $1.99, known commonly as “Two Buck Chuck.” It is owned by the Bronco Wine Company out of Ceres, California. The wines are produced from the usual suspect grapes, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Syrah, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, and Zinfandel (as White Zinfandel “blush” wine). The Valdiguie style is produced to mimic Beaujolais Nouveau wines, and Pinot Grigio in limited quantities.
