Changyu Pioneer Wine Company is a corporate winery based out of Yantai, in the Shandong province of China. Unfortunately, their website comes with a distinct warning that proceeding could irreparably harm one’s computer, so I don’t advise checking it out. According to several articles on the company, their first vineyard was planted by Zhang Bishi in 1892. “The company now grows grapes on a total of 16,666 hectares of land in the Xinjiang Uygur and Ningxia Hui autonomous regions and Shandong, Shaanxi, Liaoning provinces, and Beijing. The land takes up a quarter of China's grape-planting areas.”– Description from Amanda Schuster
