  • Castle Rock Cabernet Sauvignon Paso Robles 2011

    Snoothrank:

Paso Robles earth amd structure in a supple, smooth juice. Blackberries, chocolate, pepper, mint and oak are well balanced with alcohol, tannic structure and acidity. This has a lifting, chewy aftertaste. Juicy and with medium length it begs for red meats on the grill. This Castle Rock tasting was a real eye opener for some and a re-affirmation ... Read More

  • Castle Rock-Pinot Noir Willamette Valley 2011

    Snoothrank:

Clear, light intensity, ruby wine with restrained aromas. Fresh strawberry, red cherry, white pepper, some earthiness, and vanilla on the nose. Dry, minimal tannin, good pronounced acidity, med- body and flavours match what's on the nose. Med- finish. Good. Read More

  • Castle Rock Cabernet Sauvignon Paso Robles 2011

    Snoothrank:

For an inexpensive cabernet, I was pleasantly surprised. Nice fruit with acceptable body and pleasant finish. Give it few minutes to open up. I will buy it again to drink with my baked ziti. Glad I took a chance. Read More

Not big on heavy oak or high tannin wines. A Pinot I like is from Castle Rock and a new Pinot I just tried and liked is from Bridlewood. I also enjoy Italian Red's like a good Sangiovese. As for White...
