The vine growing and wine producing "Cascina bruni" properties are situated in piedmont, the great care of the vineyards and the traditional techniques of wine growing, allow a high quality standard of our product; the following wines stand out among them: barolo, barbaresco Reserve, nebbiolo of alba, Dolcetto of alsa, Barbera of Alba, Barbera of asti, Gavi of Gavi. arneis, Muscat of asti. Spumante Brut and, the last but not the least, the most classic one: our Barolo Chinato. And the last-born, the novello (young wine) of 'villa lisa" and the villa lisa Rose (monferrato Chiaretto). The Veglio family, owner of the "Cascina Bruni" winery for over 10o years, produces, makes and ages his wines, keeping from generation to generation his own philosophy of production. this goes from the limited production of the vineyards to the wine-making and to the ageing which are made separately, vineyard per vineyard, careful to report the vineyard of origin on the label. – Description from dvoristanac

  • Cascina Bruni Barolo Vigna Batistot 1989

Herbal on the nose with a touch of leafy greens followed by hints of sage, candied medicinal herbs and sweet floral tones. Somewhat medicinal on entry, and then a bit front loaded with fine cherry and almost black raspberry fruit up front, that yields to a tarry and slightly medicinal back palate. Also rather smooth and polished up front before ... Read More

Light, tart, enjoyable. Lots of ruby grapefruit. I got it for $14.50, which I think is more appropriate. Read More

  • Barbera d'Alba Superiore Otin Mate Cascina Bruni 2003

Really typical, rustic Barbera with very pronounced acidity (maybe why the 1996 has been scored low?). There's a lot of woody-vanilla oak, but balanced by searingly bright black cherry fruit and that really singeing acidity -- a bit daunting, but a fantastic food wine that'll cut right through an oily pasta or pizza and liven up a carpaccio beau...
