Welcome to Carlisle Winery & Vineyards! We are a small Sonoma County winery specializing in the production of old-vine, vineyard designated zinfandels and red Rhone varieties (syrah, grenache, mourvèdre, and petite sirah). While we like our wines to be bold, rich, and intensely flavored, each reflecting a sense of place, its origins in the vineyard, we also strive to create wines of balance, complexity, and perhaps most importantly, pleasure. – Description from iskicm

  • Carlisle Syrah Dry Creek Valley 2007

    Snoothrank:

There's a lot to offer in the aroma in this wine - deep black earthiness with plum and licorice. Oak notes and strawberries too, along with some herbal notes. The palate has a semi-astringic tannic approach with plum fruit showing in the middle. Very satisfying! Read More

  • I recently found a relatively new grass roots wine shop/loft in LA named the Redd Collection, founded by two friends who met while working at Wally's in the 90's. They're doing themed tastings once a week on Friday/Saturday, and this weekend featured a tasting of Ridge Zinfandel's from 1973, 91, 92, 94, and 95. How could I pass this up? Luckily,... Read More

  • I get so caught up in work that I often neglect to check in here. I'm apologizing about that!  I'm back afer a few weeks in New Zealand, which sucks up all my time not only during the trip but for the weeks prior and, as it looks, most of the week after my return. Before you ask, new Zealand was great. A young wine industry but one that has made... Read More
