Cantina Tramin

Cantina Tramin embodies the typical features of our land: the charm of nature and its ability to engage the senses, a creative and precise approach to consistent, quality production, and the ability to create a system based on cooperation. Among the oldest and most traditional wineries in Südtirol - Alto Adige, Cantina Tramin is based in Termeno on the Strada del Vino. The owners of the winery are the 300 growers who farm vineyards in the sub-zones of Termeno, Ora, Montagna and Egna – this area, nearly 250 hectares in total, is the cradle of the Gewürztraminer grape. The winery produces an average of 1.8 million bottles per year; approximately 75% of production is for the Italian market, and the remaining 25% is for export, with an annual turnover of 10 million euros. Our wines have been awarded the prestigious Tre Bicchieri twenty times, becoming a 2 star winery (less then 30 in all over Italy), and Cantina Tramin is consistently cited by international food Read more »

Cantina Tramin on Snooth

  • Tramin Sauvignon 2014

Fruity aromas of nectarine and lemon on the nose with some light green herb. Fresh and acidic on entry, with grapefruit and lime taking the lead and some lemon pith around the edges melting into a touch of toast and spice towards the finish of this well made wine. Lengthy finish has a touch more of the bitterness of citrus pith.88 pts Read More

  • Tramin Pinot Grigio 2014

Floral bouquet of orange blossom and tangerine. Palate is juicy and fresh due to the cooler climate, with lemon and green apple flavors and good acidity and spice ticking the palate with some additional floral notes and a pop of tart citrus which melts into a yeasty finish. Read More

  • Cantina Tramin Nussbaumer Gewurztraminer 2011

Deep and ripe on the nose with waxy, smoky, exotic honeyed fruit paired with a floral bouquet, apricot, and dried lemon. Round, powerful, and lightly viscous in the mouth there certainly is a lot going on here. This has an amazingly creamy texture, a clean dry, finish showing no phenolic bitterness, and a beautiful sense of ripeness. This is pr... Read More

  • Kellerei-Cantina Tramin Gewurzer Alto Adige Sudtirol 2011

A light hint of caramel smoke greets the nose followed by green flowers, and green anise seed notes. With air this takes on a rather clear honey aroma. Lightly oily and rich on the palate with a slightly viscous feel. This is full of juicy fruit with just a hint of something tropical, a hint of lychee on the backend leading to a long finish min... • Tramin Pinot Bianco DOC 2011

Huge apple blossom and light pollen notes greet the nose. In the mouth this is kind of dense and chewy with a nice hit of dry extract on the palate. Powerfully rich yet well delineated, this offers up layered intensely mineral apple flavors with a late arriving touch of bitter melon. The moderately long finish on the other hand is totally salty ... Read More

  • Tramin Pinot Grigio Unterebner 2011

Lovely depth on the nose with hint of mineral, some soft white mushroom notes and a bit of chalk. On entry this is a powerful wine, rich and flannely with a crisp mineral base note. The mid-palate reveals green, sappy, sweet and sour apple fruit, in a style that resembles a nervy pinot Gris as opposed to what one might typically expect from a bo... Read More
