The Cà Nova Estate winery was born in 1996.. About ten hectars of vineyards, a modern cellar and the magic atmosphere of this eighteenth - century - farmhouse were thus born among the hills of high Piedmont. Great care and attention, this is the winery philosophy in the Cà Nova Estate. The careful choice of vines, the qualified selection of grapes, the precious experience of the oenologist Gianluca Scaglione, and the most modern equipment for vinification are the elements that enable the success of our fine wines. We produce: GHEMME DOCG, COLLINE NOVARESI NEBBIOLO, COLLINE NOVARESI BIANCO ERBALUCE, COLLINE NOVARESI NEBBIOLO ROSE', SPUMANTE METODO CLASSICO BRUT – Description from cascinacanova

  • While traveling through Napa Valley last month I noticed that all the Vineyards I visited had roses planted around their crops. They're planted and watched closely for any early signs of infestation on the land. They monitor the Roses closely and upon early signs of problems, protective measures are taken to make sure the grape vines receive a s... • Was fortunate enough to attend a very well put together Amarone dinner in LA last night put on by a friend I met at a tasting last year. For those who don’t know, Amarone is a wine produced in Veneto, Italy, from mostly Corvina grapes along with 20-40% Rondinella and 5-25% Molinara. What makes these wines unique is that the grapes are basically ... Read More

the previous review is you're typical - housewife Robert Parker fruit juice drinker....and wouldn't know a real wine if he fell in it. This is an excellent traditional old world style wine, meaning it is completely void of the fruit juice "WOW" factor, which is why the previous poster is oblivous. If you love straight ahead smooth and 'pleas... Read More

  • So, should we be excited? Well, a lot of the wine media and critics parade would have you believe so, but if you’re like me and prefer more traditionally proportioned wines, a word of caution is in order.2007 is another hot climate vintage for Piedmont, and the wines certainly show it. While many of the wines show a much greater understanding of... Read More

  • I'm vaugely thinking about a visit to the USA and Canada maybe early next year. I should note that it's still very, very much a vague plan, and nothing is set in stone -- but I do have to decide what I'd like to do first so I can see whether it's all actually workable. Naturally visiting a couple of wine regions in both countries will be part of... Read More

  • Podere Ca'Nova Custoza 2006

Amazing white wine. I normally drink red wine, this is the first white wine I have bought in 5 years. When served cold, it is fresh, something you would drink on the beach. When served warmer, it becomes like an aperative (after dinner wine). My wine dealer let met taste this one, with some special italian cheese, amazing! Read More
