AWE blind tasting - lovely nose, soft and subtle, cherries in alcohol, mineral tones, rosewater, a touch of old wood, clay, fresh, crisp, berried right up front with a simple freshness, not complex but not trying too hard either, smaller scaled and tr...

While traveling through Napa Valley last month I noticed that all the Vineyards I visited had roses planted around their crops. They're planted and watched closely for any early signs of infestation on the land. They monitor the Roses closely and upon early signs of problems, protective measures are taken to make sure the grape vines receive a s... Read More
Was fortunate enough to attend a very well put together Amarone dinner in LA last night put on by a friend I met at a tasting last year. For those who don’t know, Amarone is a wine produced in Veneto, Italy, from mostly Corvina grapes along with 20-40% Rondinella and 5-25% Molinara. What makes these wines unique is that the grapes are basically ... Read More
the previous review is you're typical - housewife Robert Parker fruit juice drinker....and wouldn't know a real wine if he fell in it. While many of the wines show a much greater understanding of... Read More
milky, smoky, scorched earth, hot, anise seed, dried tomato, burnt cheese, pizza like - soft and flannelly, easy style, low acid sweet raspberry fruit, no detail, maybe a touch of savoryiness at its core but really quite fruity in a fresh fruity way Read More
I'm vaugely thinking about a visit to the USA and Canada maybe early next year. I should note that it's still very, very much a vague plan, and nothing is set in stone -- but I do have to decide what I'd like to do first so I can see whether it's all actually workable. Naturally visiting a couple of wine regions in both countries will be part of... Read More
Amazing white wine. I normally drink red wine, this is the first white wine I have bought in 5 years. When served cold, it is fresh, something you would drink on the beach. When served warmer, it becomes like an aperative (after dinner wine). My wine dealer let met taste this one, with some special italian cheese, amazing! Read More
