A 12,000 sq.ft "world class" facility, is perched on a hillside and has spectacular views of the nearby vineyards and the Sierra Foothills. Using the natural terrain, the architectural design of the winery was constructed on 2 plateaus, thus creating "gravity feed" as part of the winemaking process. This facility, which features 2 art galleries, is built to enable the winery to produce a maximum of 16,000 cases Annually. – Description from Alejandro

  • Diarie Break Away Zinfandel Sierra Foothills 2009

    Snoothrank:

"Light" appearing red in the glass.maybe a tad darker than the 2009 DiArie Primitivo that I am also tasting, tonight. Fairly light nose with noticeable blackberry aromas. Much rounder and fuller than the Primitivo (still no more than a medium-bodied wine)--more blackberry flavor, maybe not quite as acidic. A fairly simple wine. Very easy to ... Read More

  • Diarie Primitivo Estate Block #4 Shenandoah Valley 2009

    Snoothrank:

"Light" appearing ,more red-than-purple color in the glass. Light blackberry and maybe a hint of mint aromas on the nose. Initial mouth impression is that this is a very light red wine. There are some, not a lot, berry flavors. If I stretch, I almost get some lemon. Maybe tea leaves. Not a complex wine at all. Would be good with grilled c... Read More

  • Well, I am headed back up to Amador County (plymouth, ca)  for wine tasting after several years.  It is not my first choice in wine regions, but a friend wants to visit.   I see, that in my absence, that several new wineries have popped up there.... and it is not still all Zin and Viogner.  I was doing some research, and it appears there are mor...
