Buehler Vineyards is a small, family-owned winery located in the mountains east of St. Helena in Napa Valley. Situated north of Pritchard Hill and Conn Valley, near the base of Howell Mountain, our hillside vineyards are planted primarily to Cabernet Sauvignon, with smaller blocks of old-vine Zinfandel. Our family has been farming this beautiful estate for thirty-six years. We combine that experience and the unique terroir of our hillside vineyards with low yields, meticulous vineyard management, and minimalist winemaking techniques to create wines of uncommon complexity and depth, and to present these wines to wine lovers at reasonable prices.

  • Buehler Cabernet Sauvignon 2013

    Snoothrank:

Light hit of cassis on entry, but, also, an unfortunate hit of bitterness. Sturdy tannin and good acid. Very pleasant and lengthy aftertaste, but I cant get that initial bitterness out of my mind. Read More

  • This is way off thread topic, but I just love to rebut GregT's comments. Also, I am going to take another opportuniity to brag on a favorite maker. In discussing the Bottled in St. Helena Meiomi, Greg stated, "That's in Napa. No way are they putting out a $20 wine that would come from any vineyards there."Last week in another thread Mjet posted p... Read More

  • Long Shadows seems like a guest chef program, but in wine.  In college, our dining program would bring in chefs from around the US about four times a year under the "Cross Country Gourmet" rubric.  There was a lottery type system with a limited number of seats, and someone would come from a resto and we'd get a decent meal on our own turf.  LS g... • Can anyone help me figure out the difference between the Dave Phinney (Orin Swift) Locations F1, F2 and F3 wines. I tried one that was listed as a 2011 vintage. I did not see the bottle and don't know which to look for. Do the 1, 2 and 3 correspond to vintage? Any clarification is appreciated.  Read More

  • Hey everyone, what are some of your favorite 'everyday' or M-F types of wines to accompany a regular dinner?  I personally have enjoyed the Montoya Cabernet Sauvignon from Napa, and I usually pick it up from Total Wines out here in Virginia.  This is one of those fruit-forward cabs that isn't too complex for me to appreciate, and it usually cost... • Buehler Vineyards Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley Estate 2005

    Snoothrank:

Dark pruney color in the glass. Fairly big nose--vines, wood, prune, volatiles. Very sedate introduction to the palate. It takes a bit for the wine to flow over the tongue before I start to detect the slight cassis, coffee, leather hints. Fairly light on the tannin initially, but then it kicks in just a tad. Respectable acid give a refreshi... Read More
