Buehler Vineyards is a small, family-owned winery located in the mountains east of St. Helena in Napa Valley. Situated north of Pritchard Hill and Conn Valley, near the base of Howell Mountain, our hillside vineyards are planted primarily to Cabernet Sauvignon, with smaller blocks of old-vine Zinfandel. Our family has been farming this beautiful estate for thirty-six years. We combine that experience and the unique terroir of our hillside vineyards with low yields, meticulous vineyard management, and minimalist winemaking techniques to create wines of uncommon complexity and depth, and to present these wines to wine lovers at reasonable prices.

Buehler Vineyards on Snooth

  • +1 on Ive showing up!  My luck with the St. Cosme brand hasn't been great, but he makes it sound trop bon.I think if you are buying Napa Cabs from Uppercut, Buehler, et al, you might also consider Alexander Valley Vineyards.  In any case, I'm much preferring the 2013s to the '12s.  But I can't buy a case of any of them, because somehow I can't d... • Finding myself a little more curious as to what's going on at this price point lately, with neighbors looking to me for advice, and I did hear BLM's call recently as well.So two regions came to mind, not only for reasonable pricing, but for good overall quality potential. The Languedoc in the South of France, and Etna Rosso from the volcanic soi... Read More

  • Buehler Vineyards Napa Valley Zinfandel 2012

    Snoothrank:

Fairly light for a Buehler but then the '12 wasn't the best for several Zin producers. Some dark and red berry fruits, spice, plum and herbal notes. Better than before - 88 pts - drink now - Paul Read More

  • Buehler Cabernet Sauvignon 2013

    Snoothrank:

Second opinion on this wine. Its so inexpensive, I have to keep going back to it. Some pretty serious red fruit on the tip of the tongue. Quite an easy drinker. Light on tannin/acid. Not a particularly sophisticated or complex wine, but with a simple meal, I dont think you can beat it for the (slightly over) $20 that it costsin multiple ret... Read More

  • Buehler Vineyards Cabernet Sauvignon Estate 2013

    Snoothrank:

Dark fruit nosemaybe, some licorice. Surprisingly subtle on entry. I am getting dark berryblueberry, currant, black raspberrybut I cant believe how silky the entrance is. Sturdy tannin and acid suggests some aging potential, but why? More of a burger wine than an Beef Wellington wine. Just so easy to drink. Read More

  • Buehler Cabernet Sauvignon 2013

    Snoothrank:

Light hit of cassis on entry, but, also, an unfortunate hit of bitterness. Sturdy tannin and good acid. Very pleasant and lengthy aftertaste, but I cant get that initial bitterness out of my mind. Read More

  • This is way off thread topic, but I just love to rebut GregT's comments. Also, I am going to take another opportuniity to brag on a favorite maker. In discussing the Bottled in St. Helena Meiomi, Greg stated, "That's in Napa. No way are they putting out a $20 wine that would come from any vineyards there."Last week in another thread Mjet posted p... Read More

  • Ok, new year and time for a new topic of discussion.  Just yesterday I opened this Pinot Noir from California that initially sounded promising.  First  - it was given to Sandra as a retirement gift so it was free.  Second - a Pinot Noir bottled in St. Helena CA, so it has to be decent, right? and Third - a nice looking label.  Well, this 2014 Me... • Long Shadows seems like a guest chef program, but in wine.  In college, our dining program would bring in chefs from around the US about four times a year under the "Cross Country Gourmet" rubric.  There was a lottery type system with a limited number of seats, and someone would come from a resto and we'd get a decent meal on our own turf.  LS g...
