“In the wonderful hills of Barolo wine, where the landscape begins to take on a different, more animated guise, there is a family that has always been associated with wine: the BROVIAs. The Winery had been set up as far back as 1863 and is settled in Castiglione Falletto. Paying always attention to the importance of the “terroir”, with time and an uncompromising attitude to the selection of the finest vineyards in Langa, the family has been able to acquire great vineyards in the Barolo growing area: Rocche, Villero and Garblèt Sue’ in Castiglione Falletto and Ca’Mia and Brea in Serralunga d’Alba. Thus, the philosophy of the Winery is to propose great personality Barolos (as with the other wines produced), all made in the same way, but with very specific and clean characteristics, always different among them; Barolos that faithfully reflect the richness of our great Langa vineyards. “ – Description from JelaDragoljevic

    Snoothrank:

Bottled two weeks ago Hint of VA greets the nose along with dark fruit aromas that are tight and continue to show some fermentation aromas along with a hint of pencil lead. Powerful and smooth in the mouth, this is juicy and darkly fruity with notes of sliced plum and spiced jerky flecked with mineral on the palate. Tense on the backend, this i... Read More

  • The expected price ranges quoted are for the lot-quantity of bottles mentioned, ... ... and the cru wines from Brovia. Despite their fame, we’re kind of accustomed to Barolo and Barbaresco (indisputably the greatest wines of Italy) living in a kind of commercial backwater, and it will be interesting to see if all of the positive press about th... • Re: Barolo it can take some time for the grape (Nebbiolo) to grow on you, ... ... but if/when you are ready Brovia is making great examples for a decent price (if $60-80 is within reach). • Fennochio was high on my list. Wines were great, Claudio was incredibly nice ... ... the stars so far were Brovia and, today, Burlotto. Monvigliero from Barolo was totally stunning, but the whole range from Brovia was at a  high level and really reflected the terroir of each cru wine they sell.
