Bouldevines Estate Vineyard is in the viticulture heartland of Marlborough, New Zealand’s largest wine-producing region. Located in heritage Dog Point Road on the lower Omaka River Flats, an area hand-picked by Marlborough’s early grape growers. The estate was originally run as a sheep and cropping farm by the family and during the late 1970’s the planting of grapes was seen as an exciting new challenge. Bouldevines name originates from the characters of the vineyard property, being boulders and vines, and is owned by Philip and Janey Walsh, who are amongst the original grape growing pioneers of the region. Stretching across 31ha of the boulder-strewn flats of the lower Omaka River Flats, its fertile, free-draining soils are an ideal medium for growing grapes.
