Located in Aldeanueva de Ebro, the Viña Herminia vineyards extend over the slopes of Monte Yerga, an area which has become an important enological zone because of its micro-climate and vines, from which we obtain wines of great quality, intense colour and a modern character. The new bodega, or cellar, is a modern building in the form of an “H”, the initial letter of the brand. Integrated into its natural surroundings, Most of its structure is underground. The ageing cellar has a capacity of 8.000 barrels, at Viña Herminia we combine the most traditional processes of the D.O. Ca. Rioja with the most recent viticultural and enological developments, together with rigorous quality controls at each stage of maturing. – Description from JelaDragoljevic

Fairy bright acidity at first that toned down after a couple of hours to a better balance. Black cherry, leather and hints of gravel with very subtle smoke. Fairly long, slightly minty finish. Read More

  • Vina Herminia Crianza Tinto Rioja Spain

2005 tasted. Under 6 in Madrid. Traditional-style Rioja, not especially impressive but well made with decent fruit and Rioja leather/dustiness. Does the job with a little class for very little money. Try with lentejas or other everyday Spanish food. Read More
