Our cellar Bodegas Tradicion is among the other cellars of the Appellation of Origin Jerez – Xèrés – Sherry, the only one committed exclusively to the production of the oldest Sherries qualified by the Regulatory Board. All types of Sherry that we produce have been classified by the Guarantee of Origin Regulatory Board as V.O.S. – very old sherry or vinum optimum signatum – a wine which has been aged for more than 20 years, or V.O.R.S.– very old rare sherry vinum optimum rare signatum – a wine which has been aged for more than 30 years. Our cellar was built during the 19th century, and it is located in the historical district of Jerez, inside the area which was the walled city at the times of the Muslim Empire. With small windows, thick walls, sand soil, high ceilings and barely illuminated, our cellar is an excellent example of the architectural tradition of the beginning of the 19th century. Located in the highest part of Jerez and facing south east, as many of the cellars in the area, our bodega receives the influence of predominant winds, as well as minimum exposure to sun light and maximum humidity which ease the conservation and evolution of our wines.

Bodegas Tradicion on Snooth

  • Hazana "Tradicion" Rioja 2011

    Snoothrank:

This is pretty much what you'd expect for a $10 Rioja. Somewhat light and simple with a nice fruity nose and some red and black cherries. There's a bit of spice on the back end with medium tannins and a short to medium finish. It's not going to blow you away but it is fairly decent for some mid-week quaffing - needs food to go with. • Bodegas Tradicion Pedro Ximenez 20year

    Snoothrank:

I took a tour of the solera in Jerez last year and brought this home with me. It is not for the uninitiated in fortified wines. The scent immediately brings me back to the bodega. It is a heavy taste of honey and raisins. It is thick, delicious, and decadent like a Pedro Ximenez should be. One of the finest Pedro's I've had. Read More

  • Bodegas Tradición Jerez-Xérès-Sherry Amontillado Muy Viejo NV

    Snoothrank:

I'm not a fan of such dry sherry, so maybe this is unfair, but it was quite brutal! Reminded me of Madeira - bitter, dry and with that 'off' aged character. Read More

  • Bodegas Tradición Jerez-Xérès-Sherry Amontillado Muy Viejo NV

    Snoothrank:

Cloudy light golden-brown. Toffee nose with slated hazelnuts and faint dried fruits. Austere, salty, with a strong acid component. Muskmelon jumps out as primary flavor on the palate. c4a14t16o7 [91] Read More

  • Bodegas Tradicion Oloroso Sherry 30 Years Old NV

    Snoothrank:

Lightly muddy gold w/clear rim. Oxidized nose with wood and a musty earthiness. Rich in the mouth w/carmel, toffee, coffee, and oxidized wood aromas. While overall dry it is heavey in the mouth and lingers for quite awhile on the finish. c5a12t18o8 [92] Read More
