Both lie in a privileged landscape in the O Rosal valley, close to the mouth of the river Miño in the A Guarda area. The vineyards, which are between 50 and 150 metres above sea level, enjoy an exceptional microclimate characterised by mild temperatures, with an annual average of 15º C, very little frost and abundant rainfall. This microclimate is ideal for ripening, with a high sugar content and a lower acidity level than in other parts of the Rías Baixas designation of origin area that lie further to the north, where the quality of the wine is more variable because of the climate. – Description from dvoristanac

  • Terras Gauda Abadía de San Campio Albarino 2015

    Snoothrank:

Remarkably bright golden color. Suggestion of citrus on the nose. The wine starts off with an unfortunate chemical taste, but that whatever that was, it blows off after a few minutes. Lots of acidic fruit flavorscitrus, tropical. Some mineral hints. But now Im getting a metallic thing on the back edges of my tongue. OK wine, but not one th... Read More

  • Terras Gauda Albarino Abadia de San Campio 2015

    Snoothrank:

Rich minerality, sea foam and tart lemon aromas open for this on the nose with a lightly floral white blossom note and a hint of peach. This is zesty and bold on the palate particularly on entry with bright pink grapefruit and lemonade notes, a full acidity and touches of melon with a creamy texture towards the finish that holds on for quite a w... • Terras Gauda 2014

    Snoothrank:

Intriguingly nutty bouquet of almond and maraschino cherry with more classic white wine notes of lemon meringue and green apple. Palate is lightly spiced and quite velvety with green apple and pear notes, tart acidity and excellent balance, with a finish of toast and butter covered in lemon zest. Beautiful wine.91 pts Read More

  • Terras Gauda O Rosal 2011

    Snoothrank:

Terras Gauda is a good wine but one which does not quite justify its price. You can talk to many Gallegos who will tell you that once this bodega got pretty big the quality of the wine started to suffer. It's still a good wine but one that is more at home in the 13-15 dollar range. Read More
