  • Viore Verdejo Rueda Spain White 2010

    Snoothrank:

Peachy and low with hints of pollen and pineapple. This is soft, rich and loose in the mouth. Nothing seems to be holding this together though it does deliver a rich and creamy textured mouthful studded with pineapple, peach and papaya flavors that promptly disappear on the finish. Some airtime does help this come together a bit, but it just doe... Read More

    Snoothrank:

Rather woody on the nose but nice autumnal as well with notes of dried leaves and flowers as well as muddy earth flirting under the oak. This is moderately rich but super well polished and elegant with a wonderfully purity to the fruit. The wo... Read More

  • Bodegas Riojanas Tempranillo Blend Rioja Puerta Vieja Crianza 2008

    Snoothrank:

Rather refined oak notes on the nose with hints of blond tobacco, cedar and vanilla cutting through some red berry fruit with a touch of a white pepper top note. This is a touch soft on entry, rich but neither broad nor tall in the mouth. The fruit is a bit dark for Rioja Crianza, almost plummy with an inky blue fruit character and full load of... Read More

  • Bodegas Riojanas Tempranillo Blend Rioja Puerta Vieja Crianza 2008

    Snoothrank:

Toasty and warm on the nose with spice, vanilla, milk chocolate and sandalwood tones on the nose over a bed of slightly musky red currant fruit. This is smooth on entry but with nice supporting acidity. The tannins are soft and fuzzy adding volume in the mouth while softening the clarity of the fruit a bit. The mid-palate shows plenty of red cu... Read More
