  • Bodegas Riojanas Monte Real Gran Reserva 2001

    Snoothrank:

Toasty and frankly woody on the nose, this reveals a lovely vanilla flavored candied cherry note with air and gains sweetness as it sits in the glass. A bit tough on entry with some raw tannins to sort out, there is a nice core of fruit here, red fruits and savory with a rustic edge that I find appealing. This is pretty structured with the acid ... Earthy on the nose with low notes of leafy greens and carob under tobacco, roast beef and spicy red fruit, all topped with a light vanilla top note. A touch soft in the mouth, this spreads out across the palate like cashmere. Wonderfully ripe, lush tannins are wrapped in a nice layer of sweet blackberry and strawberry fruit. The acidity makes it... Read More

  • Bodegas Riojanas Vina Albina Barrel Fermented Blanco Rioja 2010

    Snoothrank:

If you like Moscatos and sweet wines then definitely try this one. Vibrant gold color, ripe nectarines and bananas on the nose, as well as on the tongue. A nice hint of acidity with a sweet and buttery coating finish. Serve chilled and enjoy with some tea biscuits and puff pastries or by itself as a sweet treat. Read More
