Bodegas Peñascal is a line of wines produced by Hijos de Antonio Barceló, a winery that has been operating since 1876. Peñascal, with the distinguished teardrop-shaped bottle, is a new brand offering to appeal to a younger, more modern market niche. The wines are available in a white Verdejo, red Tempranillo and “Fresh” rosado. From the website: “The H.A. BARCELÓ group has pledged to respect the environment by taking it into consideration when carrying out all the steps in our production. From the beginning until the end of the winemaking process, we are committed to minimizing our environmental impact and to promoting the rational use of natural resources.”

  • Where the hell do I buy Penascal wines in The Netherlands. I ordered once a box somewhere in this bloody country, but I cannot recall where and when (when was not later than October 2010) Who's going to help me out of this enigma?

  • I have a bottle of 1972 Tinto, gran tinto selecto, wine from Spain. It says "Criado y embotellado per Bodegas Penascal Valladolid". Any info would be welcome. rogmcsharry@verizon.net
