Bodegas Escorihuela Gascon on Snooth

  • 1884 Reservado Cabernet Sauvignon 2013

    Snoothrank:

The taste of stainless steel (tanks) is prominent - along with a lot of plum, beet and blackberry - but the scent of this Mendoza wine tends toward a mixture of plum and blueberry - which is somewhat typical. Finish is medium with no mid-palate cedar plank and the like. Still, a solid bargain in this variety. 86 points. Read More

  • 1884 Reservado Cabernet Sauvignon 2012

    Snoothrank:

Good bramble berry, spent coffee grounds, iodine on the nose - with good color; the entry is moderately tannic, with middling grip, blackberry flavor and somewhat hollow mouth feel. No rusticity, only a lack of density. Thin, but otherwise balanced and decent value. Recommended for daily tipples. 84 points. Read More

  • Escorihuela Gascon Familia Gascon Malbec Tinto NV

    Snoothrank:

I enjoyed this 2007 Malbec that my husband brought home from a trip to Argentina. I can't find a website for the wine in English, so I am unsure of its pricing and exact origin but I can tell you it is deep, delicious, layered and oh-so-easy to drink. Lots of spice coming after a very round chocolate start. Recommended, if you can find it! Read More
