Browny-red in color and there is a lovely murkyness of suspended particulate that is not taking anything away from the liquid. Huge smoky spice and vanilla oak immediately on the nostrils followed by tinge of cranberry, blackberry and chokecherry after aggressive swirling....perhaps some slight alcohol burn in the nose as well but it is smooth....
