Although the history of the city of Borja takes us back to the beginnings of the Paleolithic period, it wasn’t until the 4th century before Christ, in the heart of the Celtiberian period, when thanks to classical and numismatic written sources the name of this village came to light: Bursao. With the passing through Bursao of different civilizations like the Romans, Visigothic Hispania and the Muslims we have inherited architectural remains and above all, the natural inclination of its people towards agriculture and more particularly viniculture. During the I and II centuries, before our time, it used to mint bronze coins, ases and dividers as a symbol of its autonomy. On the obverse of the as we can see a celtiberian rider armed with a lance, riding on the writing of the name of the city in the native alphabet. The emblem adopted Read more »

  • Tres Picos Garnacha Iwc 91 2010

    Snoothrank:

For me this was a very drinkable wine. Rich red color and light on tannins. Had some blackberry and raspberry notes. I didn't pick up the ashy notes others mentioned, but that could be because I was smoking a cigar with the wine. All in all I would drink this wine again. Read More

  • Bodegas Borsao Tinto 2012

    Snoothrank:

This Garnacha from Spain is not one of my favorites. Perhaps it needs to be decanted or allowed more time to breathe. For the price, it's ok but would not go out of my way to have it with other than pizza (anything is good with Pizza)I will not be purchasing it any more. One further note, it seemed to young, it had the potential flavors but too ... Read More

It is thrilling to have so many old vineyards saved and in producing quality wine th... Read More
