  I don't know why the tags above say Chile, as this is an Argentinian Malbec from Mendoza. The nose has an interesting smokey cedar smell, combined with the typical blackberry and currant smells. The nose has an interesting smokey cedar smell, combined with the typical blackberry and currant smells. There is even the faintest hint of mint. Nice medium body with flavors of very lightly stewed dark fruits. The finish is most unique. The fruits drops out after 10-15 seconds and leave a long-lasting smokey burn not unlike a good scotch.I'm going to grab another bottle of this to lay down for a while.    (hide)

As a latina, born in Chile, I would say I got carmenere running in my veins, hehe, but I do enjoy wines from all over the world. When I studied in California I remember tasting fabulous wines and living close to the Mediterranean does have advantages. Anyhow, I didn't find many comments about Chilean wine when surfing around here, but I might have missed information. It would be very interesting to hear your opinions about it.
